Privacy Policy
Keiba Note
Effective: October 9, 2026 / Last updated: October 13, 2026
"Keiba Note" (the "App") respects your privacy and handles information about you as described below.
1. Information the App handles
Information you enter
The App stores the following on your device: race date, racecourse, race number, race name, course, and grade; bet type, how you bought, selections, amount, and payout; race cards (horse numbers, horse names, jockey names, trainer names, and pedigree); the horse name, jockey name, trainer name, and pedigree of the horses you bought; race memos; notes (title and body); your favorite horses, jockeys, and trainers and their memos; horses, jockeys, and trainers you add yourself; links you register in Links; the racecourse you chose last; display settings (text size, bottom tabs, the first day of the week on the calendar, the graded races shown, and so on); and lock settings. This information is not sent to the developer's servers (for information that comes with serving ads, see the "Ads" section).
From "For Beginners" in Links, the App opens a JRA page for beginners in your device's browser. The App imports outside information only when you open a race card page and tap "Import This Race Card" (see "Importing a race card"). The App does not automatically fetch information such as race results or odds from outside.
Photos
If you use "Add Photo" in a race record or a note, the App loads only the photos you select, reduces their size, and stores them on your device. The App does not read any other photos in your photo library. Stored photos are not sent to the developer's servers.
Camera
If you use "Take Photo", the photo you take on the spot is used for reading a ticket and as a race photo. The photo is read on your device, reduced in size, and stored on your device. The App asks for permission to access the camera so that you can take photos. Photos you take are not sent to the developer's servers.
Adding graded races to the calendar
If you use the calendar registration in the "Graded Races" screen, the App creates dedicated calendars for the App in your iPhone's Calendar (one per grade: "KeibaNote_G1", "KeibaNote_G2", and "KeibaNote_G3") and adds the names, dates, and racecourses of graded races as events. The App asks for permission to access the calendar so that it can create these dedicated calendars. The only events the App reads are those in these dedicated calendars, in order to avoid adding the same event twice. It does not read events in any of your other calendars.
Reading a race card
If you use "Read from Photo", the App reads horse numbers, horse names, jockey names, trainer names, and pedigree from the race card photo you selected, using the text recognition feature on your device. Photos and the text read from them are not sent to the developer's servers. If you use "Paste Copied Race Card", the pasted text is likewise read on your device.
Importing a race card
If you use "Import from JRA Race Card" or "Import from NAR Race Card", the App opens a race card page of JRA or of the National Association of Racing's "Local Racing Information Site" (www.keiba.go.jp) in the App's built-in browser. Only when you tap "Import This Race Card" does the App put the race card shown on the page (horse numbers, horse names, jockey names, trainer names, and pedigree) into the records on your device. The App never fetches pages automatically, and it does not send the imported content to the developer's servers or publish it.
Reading a ticket
If you use "Record from Photo", or "Read from Photo" or "Take Photo" for a ticket, the App reads the racecourse, race number, date, bet type, how you bought, horse numbers, and amount from a photo taken with the camera or a photo you selected (a ticket, a screenshot of an online betting screen, and so on), using the text recognition feature on your device, and stores that photo on your device as a race photo. The date the photo was taken may be used to decide the race date. Photos and the text read from them are not sent to the developer's servers.
Sharing results
If you use "Share", the App creates an image or text of the race result and hands it to the destination you choose. You can choose whether to include amounts each time you share. If you use "Save to Photos", the image is saved to your photo library. In this case the App asks only for permission to add photos (it does not read photos in your photo library). Notes can also be shared or exported as text if you choose to.
Exporting records (CSV)
If you use Premium's "Export Records (CSV)", the App creates a file that contains your records and hands it to the save location or destination you choose.
Manual backup and restore
If you use "Export Backup" in Settings, the App creates a backup file that contains your records and photos and hands it to the save location you choose (the Files app, AirDrop, email, and so on). With "Restore from Backup", the file you select is loaded on your device. Neither is sent to the developer's servers.
Saving your records before a restore
If some photos in an iCloud backup cannot be read and you choose "Restore Records Only", the App saves your records from before the replacement as a file in the "Keiba Note" folder in your device's Files app. This file is never sent outside your device.
Automatic iCloud backup
When Premium's "Back Up to iCloud Automatically" is turned on, the App automatically saves your records and photos to a storage area dedicated to the App in your own iCloud (Apple). The saved data is managed by Apple's iCloud, is not sent to the developer's servers, and the developer cannot access its contents. You can turn this feature off at any time in the App's Settings. Restoring from a backup on iCloud is available even without Premium.
Purchase information
Apple's StoreKit is used to process purchases of Premium (a one-time purchase) and "Support the Developer" (purchases made to support the developer; they do not add any features). Apple manages payment information, and the developer does not obtain payment information such as credit card numbers. To provide purchased features, the App checks the status of your Premium purchase and the validity of your entitlement. The App records no information about "Support the Developer" purchases.
Biometric authentication
If you turn on the App's lock, the App uses identity verification by Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Authentication is performed on your device by Apple's mechanisms, and neither the App nor the developer obtains or stores biometric data.
Rating requests
The App may show the standard rating dialog provided by Apple. To decide whether to show it, the App stores only on your device the number of days you opened the App, the number of times you saved a race that includes a winning ticket, and the date and version of the last time it tried to show the dialog. This information is not sent to the developer's servers. Ratings and reviews are managed by Apple.
Ads
If you have not purchased Premium, the App displays ads using "Google AdMob", an advertising service provided by Google LLC. The ads shown are limited to ads that are not based on your interests (non-personalized ads). To serve ads, control their frequency, prevent fraud, and measure effectiveness, AdMob may collect device information (such as your IP address, device type, OS version, and how ads are displayed and tapped). The handling of the collected information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
In the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and some other regions, the App asks for your consent for ads before showing them. You can change your consent from "Ad Settings" in Settings.
The App does not request tracking permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency, and it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. It does not include any usage analytics tools. Ads are not shown once you purchase Premium.
Links to external sites
"More Apps by the Developer", "Write a Review", "Send Feedback", and "Privacy Policy" in Settings, the bet type explanations on the entry screen, Links, and "Look Up on netkeiba" on the horse and jockey pages open external pages in your device's browser or similar. With "Look Up on netkeiba", the horse name or jockey name is sent to netkeiba for the search. Links you register in Links are stored only on your device (and in backups). "Send Feedback" opens a Google Form, and the developer receives what you enter and submit. The JRA race cards, odds, race results, and payouts in Links and the race screen, and the race cards of JRA and the Local Racing Information Site (www.keiba.go.jp) in the race card screen, open in the App's built-in browser (the App imports their content only when you tap "Import This Race Card"). The handling of information on the sites you open is governed by those sites' policies.
2. Storage and deletion of information
Information you enter and various settings are, in principle, stored on your device. Depending on your device's backup settings, they may be included in OS backups. If you delete the App, the information the App stored on your device is also deleted, except for information that remains in OS backups.
Backups saved automatically to iCloud are not deleted automatically when you delete the App. You can delete them from the iCloud storage management screen in the iOS Settings app.
3. Provision to third parties
Except where required by law, the developer does not sell or provide information you enter into the App to third parties. As described above, Apple's services are used for payments and iCloud backup, and Google AdMob is used for serving ads.
4. Children's privacy
The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. Note that under Japanese law, people under 20 years old cannot purchase betting tickets (baken).
5. Security
Depending on the nature of the information it handles, the App strives to protect information by using on-device storage and the permission management and authentication features provided by the OS.
6. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated in response to changes in features, changes in the services used, amendments to laws, and so on. If there is an important change, we will announce it on this page or in the App.
7. Contact
For inquiries about this policy or about the handling of information in the App, please contact atsushi.ito6@gmail.com. You can also send them through the feedback and bug report form.
