Acoustic

Effective: October 28, 2026 / Last updated: October 28, 2026

Acoustic (the “App”, a tuner for guitar and bass) respects your privacy and handles information as described below. The App has no developer servers, and the developer never receives your information.

1. Information the App Handles

Microphone

The App asks for microphone access to measure the pitch of your strings. Microphone audio is analyzed on your device only while the tuner is listening, and no recording is created. Audio is never saved or sent to the developer or to third parties.

Song memories, folders, setlists, and settings

The App stores the song memories you save (song title, tuning, reference pitch, and so on), your folders, your live setlists, and your settings on your device. This information is never sent to the developer's servers or to third parties.

Reading song titles from a photo

When you choose a photo of a song list, the App reads only the photo you pick in the system photo picker, recognizes the text in it on your device using Apple's Vision, and uses it to fill in song titles. The photo is neither saved nor sent anywhere. The App never asks for access to your whole photo library.

iCloud backup

Only with Premium and only when you use iCloud backup, the App saves your song memories, folders, and setlists to the App's own location in your own iCloud Drive. Saving is handled by Apple's iCloud, and the developer never receives the contents.

Exporting and sharing

Only when you choose to export or share, the App turns your song memories into a JSON file or text and passes it to the destination you choose. Information there is handled under that service's policy.

Purchases

Purchasing Premium (a one-time purchase) and restoring purchases use Apple's StoreKit. Payment is handled by Apple, and the developer never receives payment information such as credit card numbers. The App checks that your purchase is valid in order to provide purchased features.

Records for review requests

To decide when to show the App Store rating prompt, the App records on your device only such things as how many days you have opened it and how many tuning sessions you have finished. These records are never sent to the developer or to third parties. The rating prompt is shown by Apple, and Apple decides whether it appears.

Ads, analytics, and tracking

The App shows no ads and includes no analytics or tracking. It never tracks you across other companies' apps or websites.

External pages

“More Apps by This Developer”, “Write a Review”, and “Send Feedback” in Settings, and the Terms of Use on the Premium screen, open external pages in your browser or the App Store. “Send Feedback” opens a Google Form, and the developer receives what you enter and submit there. Information on those pages is handled under each site's policy.

2. Storage and Deletion

Song memories, folders, setlists, and settings are stored on your device. Depending on your device's backup settings, they may be included in OS backups. Deleting the App deletes the information on your device. However, OS backups, backups saved to iCloud Drive, and exported files are not deleted automatically. To delete iCloud Drive backups, use iCloud Drive (for example, Manage Storage under iCloud in iOS Settings).

3. Sharing with Third Parties

Except as required by law, the developer never sells or provides information you store in the App to third parties. Purchases and iCloud backup use Apple's services, and exports and inquiries use the services you choose.

4. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children.

5. Security

The App relies on on-device storage and the OS permission system to protect the information it handles. Information in iCloud is protected by Apple's safeguards.

6. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as features or the services used change. Important changes will be announced on this page or elsewhere.
