CalNote

Privacy Policy

CalNote

Effective: September 29, 2026 / Last updated: October 13, 2026

CalNote, a calendar app (the "App"), respects your privacy and handles information as described below.

1. Information handled by the App

Calendars and Reminders

The App requests access to Calendars and Reminders in order to display the events and reminders stored in your iPhone's Calendar and Reminders in a notebook style, and to add, edit, and delete them.

Settings you configure

Fonts, paper color and condition, sticky notes, bookmarks, calendar colors, which calendars to show, the number of list rows, and other settings you configure are stored on your device. They are not transmitted to the developer's servers.

Templates and history

So that you can quickly create similar events and reminders, the App stores on your device the title, calendar, time and duration, location, URL, and notes of the items you save as templates and of the last 50 events and reminders you created in the App (history). This information is not transmitted to the developer's servers. You can delete templates at any time in the settings screen.

Stickers and markers

Stickers you place on dates, stickers you create, and markers you put on important days (a color and a short note) are stored on your device. Because new stickers become available over time, the App records on your device the number of days you opened it.

So that stickers can be shared with the developer's other apps installed on the same device, your sticker collection and records such as the number of days opened (the sticker book) are stored in an on-device location shared by the developer's apps, using Apple's App Group feature (currently, only the App uses this location). The sticker book does not contain the contents of your events or reminders. This information is not transmitted to the developer's servers.

Notes and photos

Notes you write on the Notes page (titles and text) and photos you attach to them are stored in an on-device location used only by the App. This information is not transmitted to the developer's servers.

The App reads only the photos you pick in the iOS photo picker when you tap "Choose Photos"; it does not access your whole photo library. The camera is used only to take a photo when you tap "Take Photo." You can change camera access at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Widgets

Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read your calendars and reminders directly on your device to show your events. To match the widgets' appearance to the App, settings such as paper color, font, and which calendars to show and their colors are stored in an on-device location shared only by the App and its widgets. This information is not transmitted to the developer's servers.

Records for rating requests

To show Apple's standard App Store rating request an appropriate number of times, the App records on your device the date you first opened the App, the number of days you opened it, the number of events and reminders you created in the App, and the date and app version of the last request. The contents of your events and reminders are not recorded. These records are not transmitted to the developer's servers.

Purchase information

Purchases of Premium (monthly and yearly subscriptions, and a one-time purchase) and of "Support the Developer" (a purchase to support the developer that does not add any features) are processed with Apple's StoreKit. Payment information is managed by Apple, and the developer does not obtain payment information such as credit card numbers. The App checks your purchase status to provide purchased features. The App does not record any information about "Support the Developer" purchases.

Biometric authentication

If you turn on the biometric lock, the App uses Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode to verify your identity. Authentication is performed on your device by Apple, and neither the App nor the developer obtains or stores biometric data.

External pages

The App opens external pages only when you tap one of the following. "Other apps by the developer", "Write a Review", and "Feedback and bug reports" in the settings screen open the developer's website, the App Store, and a Google Form, respectively. The Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Manage Subscription links on the Premium screen open Apple's terms page, this privacy policy, and Apple's subscription management page, respectively. These pages open in a browser or similar app, and information handled on them is subject to each site's policy. What you enter in the Google Form reaches the developer through Google's service. See the Google Privacy Policy for how the form is handled.

Advertising and analytics

The App does not show ads and does not use analytics tools.

2. Storage and deletion

Your settings, templates and history, stickers and markers, notes and photos, and the records for rating requests are stored on your device. Depending on your backup settings, they may be included in OS backups. When you delete the App, the information it stored on your device is deleted, except for information remaining in OS backups. However, if the sticker book is shared with the developer's other apps, it remains while those apps are on your device.

Because events and reminders are stored in the iPhone's built-in Calendar and Reminders, deleting the App does not delete them.

3. Disclosure to third parties

Except as required by law, the developer does not sell or provide your information to third parties. For purchases and for external pages you open (the App Store, Apple's terms and subscription management pages, and Google Forms), Apple's and Google's services are used as described above.

4. Children's privacy

The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children.

5. Security

The App protects information by storing it on your device and by using the permission management and authentication features provided by the OS.

6. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in features, services used, or applicable laws. Significant changes will be announced on this page or in the App.

7. Contact

For questions about this policy or how the App handles information, please contact atsushi.ito6@gmail.com. You can also use the feedback form.
